  • Visa: Most foreign nationals need a visa to enter Mongolia. Visitors from some countries can get a visa on arrival, while others need to apply for a visa in advance.

  • Currency: The official currency of Mongolia is the Mongolian Tugrik (MNT). US dollars and Euros are also widely accepted.

  • Language: The official language is Mongolian

  • Transportation: The main airport in Mongolia is in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, and there are also flights to other cities in the country. Public transportation options include buses, minivans, and trains. Taxis and rental cars are also available.

  • Accommodation: There are a variety of accommodation options available in Mongolia, including hotels, guesthouses, and homestays. Many tourists also opt to stay in a traditional Mongolian ger (yurt) while visiting the countryside.

  • Climate: Mongolia has a continental climate with long, cold winters and short, mild summers. The best time to visit depends on what you want to see and do. The best time to see the country’s natural beauty is in the summer (June to August), when the grass is green and the wildflowers are in bloom.

Covid-19 Update

Tourists are allowed to enter Mongolia from the 14th of February 2022 without quarantine and have no additional requirements from the 14th of March.

Free vaccinations and treatments are available for travelers, who depart from Mongolia at Intermed Hospital

Covid-19 Update

2023 covid-19 information Tourists can exercise normal safety precautions. Mongolia’s border is open. You’re not required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test or quarantine on arrival. All major domestic COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
